THE LITTLE WAY TO HEAVEN!
This Tuesday, October 1st, we celebrate the Feast of St Therese of Lisieux (January 2, 1873- September 30, 1897), also known as "St Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face" or simply as "LITTLE FLOWER". St Therese was born in Northwest France. She entered the Carmelite monastery of Lisieux at a very young age: she was just 15 year old. She lived there a life of humility, simplicity and trust in God, often referred to as THE LITTLE WAY. Suffering from tuberculosis, she was only 24 when she died. While she never left her convent, we know much about her spiritual life because at the request of her Mother Superior she wrote an autobiography: "STORY OF A SOUL" which I recommend you to read. It is one of the most influential spiritual writings because of Little Flower's simple and child-like approach.

on most Sunday afternoons.
We look forward to working with your son/daughter and family in the year ahead! Together we will help students and families encounter Christ and build relationships through fellowship, prayer, catechesis, service, and sacraments.
Everyone is welcome to join us for our youth gatherings whether or not you attend OLHOC.
We ask that you

so that we have the most updated contact information and we can better serve you and your family!

Tuesday Scripture Study
- Join us on Tuesday mornings after the 9 am Mass to study the readings for the next Sunday.
Wednesday Scripture Study
– The Friday night scripture study has been changed to Wednesdays. They will be begin at 7:30, following the 7 pm Mass
– The first Friday of each month the evening Mass is said in Latin. This Mass is dedicated to promoting the Priesthood.
—Join members of the Marian Group on the first Saturday of the month after the 9 am Mass. Learn more about consecrating your life to Jesus through Mary.
– Join us on the first Saturday of each month as we pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet as a community at 3 PM.

OLHOC Annual Coat Drive
is in full swing with cool weather coming! We are collecting new/gently used coats, hats, gloves, etc. for children and adults.
Donations may be placed in the box outside of Fr. Martin Hall
and will be taken to the Children's Aid Society.
non-perishable food donations may be left in the designated box outside Fr. Martin Hall. All donations go to the Food Bank of Southern Maryland.

If you missed the fingerprinting at OLHOC,
please contact Nereida Tellechea to get a list of approved locations to do the fingerprinting.
The Archdiocese has recently updated their Child Protection policies and have re-instituted
fingerprinting for all adult volunteers (ages 18+)
, meaning that all future
and current volunteers
(even if currently cleared under old non-fingerprinting policy) must be fingerprinted unless they have already done so
. Fingerprinting must be done for all those who serve in the following ministries who have contact with children/youth:
CCD/Children's Faith Formation, Youth Ministry, Sacramental Preparation Team (First Communion & Confirmation Team), Altar Servers, Children's/Youth Choir...
